5 p.m.-7 p.m. in the Nohr Gallery in Ullsvik Hall, University of Wisconsin-Platteville
Including paintings, sculptures, and installations of contemporary surrealist works, this display is part of the joint celebration of the avant-garde during the month of November in conjunction with the UW-Platteville Theater Department. Costumes from the “Evening of the Avant-Garde” created by the Spring 2010 semester 3D design students will also be on display.
The exhibit includes works from Madison painters Helen Klebesadel and Mike Watson, Chicago sculptor Chris Taw, Chicago painter Bill Moran, and UW-Platteville student Thomas Hoffman.
The opening reception is on Nov. 2 from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. and is free of charge for the public. Snacks will be served, along with many of the artists being on-hand for conversation.
The Contemporary Surrealism exhibit will be on display from Monday, October 25 through Wednesday, November 24. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday 8 a.m.-8 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
